Digital Assistant is an app designed to boost sales and simplify the work flow

Previously, store employees had only couple computers per store to process sales. The problem was that the software was very expensive, which limited the number of devices available.

With a mobile app accessible from sales associates’ personal phones, store throughput was expected to increase significantly, especially during peak seasons.

Departments were surveyed as stakeholders

Business needed not only an increase in sales but also an improvement in the quality of pre-sale processes, such as revaluation, product delivery, and others.

The sales associates highlighted that the search mechanisms and information fields available to customers don’t meet their needs.

Prototyping & Testing

Prototyping & Testing

The prototyping process was closely tied to testing, which took place weekly in retail stores with the participation of sales associates.

In some cases, prototypes were adjusted on the spot and retested to validate hypotheses. Fortunately, there were plenty of sales associates available for testing.

Now, sales associates could scan items right at the counter and assist customers without having to take the price tag to a desktop computer.

Based on insights, we shifted the focus of the product screen design toward working with alternatives, which later sparked strong engagement from sales associates.

The main task for the checkout design was to simplify complex processes. The amount of information to include was enormous, but through testing, we were able to defend a simpler version.

During testing of the final product versions, it became clear that some areas needed highlighting. Instead of labor-intensive native highlights, we chose a simpler and faster solution—Lottie animations. As a result, we covered more than 15 hidden points in just one week.

The main achievement was the company’s confidence in developing its own products. As we were finalizing the UI, we were already preparing for a new, large-scale project.
